This painting was inspired by the landscape at Castle Hot Springs, Arizona. It is a place of collisions, juxtapositions, and unexpected discoveries. Hot water gushes from the ground to converge with arid land and create a unique Arizona oasis. It’s a place where you have time to breathe and consume the beauty around you. When I looked up at this particular moment, I was captivated by the wonderful contrast of papery bougainvillea flowers against the sturdy agave plant. Like dancers, the colorful costumed woman swirled around her steadfast partner. There was a cool breeze, and the water was warm, and all was well.
