This painting was inspired by an adventure into the Sycamore Canyon Wilderness outside of Cottonwood, Arizona. The Parsons trail descends into a lush green canyon with small waterfalls and clear pools. Along the trail are environments perfect for Golden Columbines to thrive. On a breezy day, the abundance of glowing yellow blooms sway to and fro in the dappled sunlight. You’ll see these sunny beauties in many riparian areas across Arizona, but on this day, with our feet in the cool water and the sun on our faces, they were the perfect company.
